Update on the Epidemic of Opioid use in Fulton County
When District Attorney Paul Howard commissioned a report to gather data in 2016, it was not designed to frighten people but rather to make everyone aware that we are staring at a crisis that gives every indication that it will get worse," Howard said. One of the report's authors, Dr. Kevin Baldwin, said that if the trend continues as expected, the number of deaths is only expected to increase. Hira Kohli, MD, is a Gwinnett Medical Group doctor who specializes in family medicine and has practiced in the Atlanta area for many years. She is board-certified in family medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Kohli attended medical school at Meharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in India, and completed her residency in family medicine at Warren Hospital – UMDNJ in New Jersey. She completed a fellowship in geriatrics at Emory University in Atlanta, where she also served as the chief resident of the Family
Practice Residency Program.
She believes in providing quality and compassionate care for patients at every stage of life – from newborn through adulthood. She prides herself on practicing evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Kohli enjoys educating her patients and ensuring that they take an active role in their health care. She’s active in the community and promotes patient awareness of common health and medical issues.
She values family and spending time with them. She and her husband, Ravi, live in Johns Creek with their son. When she’s not working, she enjoys gardening.
